- Since 1976, YWCA of Sweetwater County has been providing services for the betterment of people’s lives. The organization is a non-profit organization and is registered as a 501 (c) 3 entity. YWCA continues to grow and expand, always looking to address future needs of citizens of Sweetwater County. YWCA offers services through the Early Care and Learning Center, Financial Empowerment, and The Center for Families & Children. Services are offered at locations in Rock Springs and Green River. YWCA of Sweetwater County is a United Way Community Partner.

- The YWCA Early Care and Learning Center provides quality, dependable childcare to an average of 100 children per day from birth through second grade. The Rock Springs Center opened in 1977 with the opening of the Infant and Toddler Center in 2009.
- Children learn from a developmental curriculum while parents are able to work or go to school. The Early Care and Learning Centers focus on school readiness and age-appropriate experiences to prepare the children for their future. The YWCA provides tuition assistance for families that income qualifies and would not otherwise be able to afford quality childcare.
- In fiscal year 2015, 205 children were enrolled in the YWCA Early Care and Learning Centers. Of those children 30 families received tuition assistance.
- The YWCA hosts a Summer Day Camp for school-aged children while on break. Over the duration of the summer 30 children attend the program allowing parents to continue working or attending school, know their children were in a safe, nurturing environment and participating in age-appropriate activities.

- The YWCA “Financial Empowerment” Program is designed to provide people with basic money management skills to provide them with the tools to be financially successful and stable. There are many on-line courses or books that offer a basic financial education. However, the YWCA feels that by providing this information in person there is a greater chance of creating a successful change in habits.
- The YWCA will be offering these classes free of charge to individuals, groups or businesses. The basic classes will cover:
- Developing a budget
- The difference between “needs vs wants”
- Why savings is important
- Dealing with debts
- Building an emergency savings fund.
- The goal is to design the classes based on the individuals or groups attending and provide them the help and direction they need. The YWCA is willing to provide one-on-one classes or groups sessions. Just call us and schedule your sessions.

- Center for Families & Children (CFC) is a multi-agency location that provides advocacy, support and resources to victims of all forms of family violence including but not limited to: domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, child sexual assault, elder abuse, stalking, dating violence and human trafficking. A 24-hour Safe House with basic necessities is available for victims and their non-offending family members in addition to a 24-hour crisis line.
- Advocates assist victims in applying for protection orders, accompanying to court and medical appointments, providing resources and obtaining government assistance, and becomes a confidant in a time of uncertainty. CFC partners work with agencies throughout Sweetwater County to best serve victims. Partner agencies include: Rock Springs and Green River Police Departments, Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Department, County Attorney’s Office, Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, Southwest Counseling Services, Department of Family Services, Legal Aid of Wyoming, and local clergy.

- Volunteers play a vital role in our community and we appreciate your interest in helping our community become a better place. If you are interested in volunteering please call 352-6635 and talk with our Development Director about what you would like to do.
What kind of volunteer work interest you?
1. Early Care and Learning Center – Volunteers would work in our child care classrooms. We are committed to standards of excellence in child protection practices. If you wish to volunteer directly with the children you will be required to complete a background check process.
2. Center for Families & Children – Volunteers work with victims of family violence either in our offices or on our 24-hour crisis line. If you are interested in volunteering you will be provided a 40 hour mandatory training to help you be a supportive advocate for families.
3. Project Based Volunteering – Do you have a specific project you or your group would like to do for YWCA? We would love to have your help. Please call and talk with us about your ideas.
4. Internships – If you are a student interested in an internship as part of your education program please call and talk with us about how we may be able to help.
