- Big Brothers Big Sisters is a youth mentoring organization that works one-on-one with our members to ensure successful relationships which improve futures.
- Greater Wyoming Big Brothers Big Sisters is an affiliate of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America program which has been providing one-on-one mentoring nationwide for over 100 years. The Big Brother Big Sister model for mentoring is distinguished by the strong staff support for each and every match during their time in the program.
- The Big Brothers Big Sisters program in Rock Springs and Pinedale provides support to children and families in Sweetwater and Sublette Counties and helps them achieve their full potential.
- We are a United Way Community Partner and have been receiving funds through their grant submission process for many years. We also receive funds from Sweetwater and Sublette Counties. We are always grateful for their continued support. Our third major source of funds is from our fundraising efforts such as Bowl for Kids’ Sake. Donors such as Arbys and Rent-A-Center are national donors to Big Brothers Big Sisters and we appreciate their continued support.
- Adult volunteers are called “Bigs”. We are always looking for more volunteers to become “Bigs” to young children. You must be 17years old and live in our local area. “Bigs” usually spend 5-10 hours a month with their “Little”. The choice of activities is up to you and your “Little”. Call or check out our website for more details.
- Adults volunteers, called “Bigs”, are matched to a child, called “Littles”, with a similar personality and whom they share similar interests. Each relationship is called a “match” and the two spend time together in the local area building a friendship. The impact on both the “Big” and the “Little” can be amazing.
